About RMSRO

RMSRO was originally incorporated as "Rocky Mountain Certified Ski Race Officials, Inc." on October 3, 1973. The organization was reincorporated as Rocky Mountain Ski Race Officials, Inc. on April 10, 1989 and following that re-incorporation, application was filed for 501 (c) 3 nonprofit status which was granted.

The basic purpose of the organization has remained the same since the beginning: "Establish, administer and promote a program devoted to the education, development, training, scheduling and certification of Alpine Ski Officials; to promote the accuracy and fair play in the governing of competitive ski events of any nature; and to support the USSA, FIS, AAU, NCAA, and other recognized associations for the promotion of Skiing."

RMSRO Membership: lowest number recorded was 198 although it was believed to be closer to 150 in the mid seventies; the documented highest 426 in 1988. then 2009 was 615.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is  RMSRO membership included in our USSA Officials membership and license?

Yes! (starting with 2003-04) RMSRO dues are $5.00 which is added for RMD Officials when paying USSA and RMD dues. (These dues have not increased in over 20 years!) Each officials all-day clinic/class is an additional $20.00.

If I don't plan to work races this year, but will again next season, do I have to pay RMSRO dues?

No, but you also loose eligibility to receive our 10 year participation award, and will not receive 'work' credit for any races during a season in which your dues were not paid.

RMSRO is the only authorized organization for training, licensing and promoting Alpine Officials in Rocky Mountain Division- this is NOT handled by USSA or RMD.
